“Loke and I met in France in November 2012. We fell in love and I decided to follow him to Sweden. We were broke and trying to figure out our lives. Between April 2013 and June 2017, we ended up living in twenty-eight different places. Sometimes we only had a couch or a short term rental, other times an entire house and a few cats to look after. Home was wherever we fell asleep in each other’s arms.

In January 2017 I started to draw all those places. One by one, from memory. In my thoughts, I revisited all those rooms we had called home, from one night to a couple of months. I tried to capture the essence of each place. Who were we at this time? What were we doing? What were we wearing? What were we eating? What were we dreaming of? Who was our host? Which objects were we surrounded by?

This little book is a medium to help me process those years, and a tribute to all the amazing people who opened their door to us. In June 2017, we found a home and ended this nomadic period of our lives; the last six drawings in this book are from this place.”
